Ultrasound Meets Flow: Lignin Nanoparticle Research at KU Leuven

...

The research exchange is focused on ultrasound-assisted flow synthesis of lignin nanoparticles, with particular emphasis on controlling particle size, improving process reproducibility, and evaluating the influence of solvent/antisolvent conditions and flow parameters. The work combines continuous-flow processing, ultrasound-assisted nanoprecipitation, and nanoparticle characterization by DLS and SEM, providing valuable insight into the scalable preparation of lignin-based nanomaterials. Beyond the experimental progress, the stay further strengthens the collaboration between UL FKKT and KU Leuven, contributing to the development of sustainable flow-based technologies for biomass-derived functional materials.
