The 8th IMTB Conference – Implementation of Microreactor Technology in Biotechnology (IMTB 2026) – has successfully concluded in Bled, bringing together researchers and experts from around the world to exchange knowledge and discuss the latest advances in microreactor technology, flow chemistry, bioprocess engineering, and related fields. The conference was the second public event organized within the FlowCat project, following the project’s commitment to bringing together the research community and promoting the exchange of knowledge in flow chemistry and related technologies.

The FlowCat project played an important role in both the organization and scientific programme of the conference. Prof. Polona Žnidaršič Plazl, Coordinator of the FlowCat project, served as Co-Chair of IMTB 2026, contributing significantly to the successful organization of the conference and its scientific programme.

We were particularly pleased to welcome Prof. Francesca Paradisi and Prof. C. Oliver Kappe, members of the FlowCat Advisory Board, as invited speakers, together with Prof. Pablo Domínguez de María, a member of the FlowCat Steering Committee. The UL FlowCat team also contributed to the scientific programme with oral presentations by Rok Ambrožič, Žiga Gerdina, Patrik Hlebanja, and Tadej Menegatti, while actively participating in the organization of the event.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us in Bled and contributed to making IMTB 2026 an inspiring, engaging, and memorable event.
